No. The file is read and cut inside your browser, on your device.
How do I write page ranges?
Separate the parts with commas. 1-3, 5, 7-9 gives three files: pages 1 to 3, page 5, and pages 7 to 9.
Why do I get a ZIP?
When the split makes more than one file, they come together in one ZIP so your browser downloads a single file. Open it to find each part.
