A Google Analytics alternative you host yourself
Google Analytics 4 is free and does far more. Dozokit Analytics counts visits without cookies and keeps your visitors’ data out of Google, in your own Cloudflare account.
| Google Analytics | Dozokit Analytics | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free. A paid edition, Analytics 360, exists for large companies. | Free and open source. Cloudflare’s free plan covers about 9,000 pageviews a day. |
| Where it runs | Google’s service. | In your own Cloudflare account, deployed in one click. AGPL-3.0. |
| Cookies and identifiers | First-party cookies (_ga) that tell users apart, kept for 2 years by default. | No cookies and no IP address. A random visitor id in the browser’s localStorage, renewed after 13 months. Browsers sending Global Privacy Control aren’t counted. |
| Where the data lives | On Google’s servers, with Google as data processor. | In a database in your own Cloudflare account. Nothing goes to a third party. Visits are deleted after 25 months. |
| Goals and events | Yes, events and key events. | Yes, with properties. |
| Funnels | Yes, funnel explorations. | No. |
| Revenue tracking | Yes, ecommerce purchase events. | No. |
| Team access | As many users as you need, with roles. | No: one password. |
What Google Analytics does that Dozokit Analytics doesn’t
Funnels, ecommerce revenue, unlimited users with roles, Google Ads integration and deep explorations, all for free. If you run ads or a shop, GA4 shows things Dozokit Analytics can’t.
Which one to use
Pick Google Analytics if you need funnels, revenue or a team. Pick Dozokit Analytics if pages, sources, goals and visitor journeys are enough, and you’d rather not send visitor data to Google. Google Analytics sets its _ga cookie for two years and sends your visitors’ data to Google. Dozokit Analytics sets no cookies and sends nothing to a third party; it only keeps a random id in the browser. Check the rules where you are.
Install it yourself
The button creates a Worker and a database in your Cloudflare account, then asks you for a password of at least 12 characters. That password opens your dashboard.
